It’s home to Scafell Pike, its highest mountain and Wastwater, its deepest lake. We discover the lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere and the market town of Keswick.

Shap Wells Hotel

Situated in a secluded, wooded valley, high in the Shap Fells and surrounded by mountain streams yet only minutes from the M6 (Junction 39) and the A6. Shap Wells Hotel is the ideal place from which to explore the Lakes, Dales and the English and Scottish Border Counties.

Many of our rooms having breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and fells, offering a true taste of the English countryside. The hotel has retained many of its original features over the years and much time has been taken to retain the true character of the building.

Day 1

Meet your coach and travel to Belfast to join the early morning ferry crossing to Cairnryan.  En-route we will visit Grenta Green before arriving at our hotel in the Lake District.

Day 2

After breakfast we take the Kirkstone Pass to Glenridding where we will board a lake cruise on the Ullswater Steamer to Pooley. We continue the tour through the dramatic beauty of the Lakeland fells to Keswick for a visit of the town centre.

Day 3

Today we explore the southern lakes and visit Bowness-on-Windermere where we have time to take in the beautiful views over the countyis largest lake. We continue on the southern road and make our way to Coniston and past Dove Cottage, William Wordsworth’s home near Grasmere.

Day 4

Today we will visit the town of Skipton.  Monday is Market day and has been voted the UK’s ‘Best small Outdoor Market 2017’. Later we will make our way back to the hotel through the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Day 5

After breakfast and checkout we will depart the hotel and head to Settle to take the Settle to Carlisle Railway through the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, crossing the Ribblehead viaduct and through Eden Valley’s rolling hills. We will have free time in Carlisle to discover the town centre before heading to Cairnryan to join the evening ferry crossing to Belfast. On arrival in Belfast, we will return you to your original starting point.
